Editor's note: A previous version of this article said Mr. Fetterman will be on the tour. That is not accurate. The tour will be led by Mr. Fetterman's wife, Gisele Barreto Fetterman.

With midterm season upon the Pennsylvanian electorate, the Fetterman campaign will seek to sway Latino voters in the Commonwealth as it launches a “Latinos for Fetterman” tour starting Saturday, Oct. 22, to run through the weekend.

Gisele Fetterman will lead the tour as John Fetterman, the Senate hopeful, continues to traverse across the Commonwealth.

“Today, I am proud to kick off the ‘Latinos for Fetterman’ tour and do what I love most: meet and talk to all the beautiful people of Pennsylvania,” Gisele Fetterman told AL DÍA.

“It is no secret that I hate politics. It’s too often a very mean and negative space. But I do truly love meeting and talking to all of the voters on the ground. I love listening to their stories and learning more about the communities that make Pennsylvania the beautifully diverse state that it is,” she continued.

Barreto Fetterman’s two-day trip will stop in districts containing the highest Latino population —  including Philadelphia, Reading, Hazleton, and East Stroudsburg — and will stand alongside Latino political bastions, suggesting endorsements for John Fetterman are well underway.

Some of the candidates who are scheduled to accompany Fetterman on the tour are Congressman Tony Cardenas, Representative Manny Guzman, and Councilwoman Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz.

Barreto Fetterman told AL DÍA they look forward to “listening to the Latino community.”

“The Fetterman campaign has one clear and resounding message to all Latinos in the Commonwealth: we are coming to you, we are listening to you, and we are not taking your vote for granted,” Barreto Fetterman added.

In Philadelphia, State Rep. Danilo Burgos will host a meet and greet. But the Fetterman campaign schedule, packed as it is, will also have a canvass and launch program with Rep. Darren Soto, and PA State House hopeful Yesenia Rodriguez.

Cepeda-Freytiz and Rodriguez are working on their own races for PA House Districts 129 and 116, respectively. Their opponents, Barry Llewellyn and Dane Watro Jr. are their Republican challengers.

And in seeking to rally swing voters, Fetterman’s Latino tour may serve him well among the unswayed. Of the contenders for the PA Senate race, Fetterman is seemingly poised to capture the Latino vote if there is significant turnout on election day.

According to a Mason-Dixon / TELEMUNDO poll, Fetterman leads Dr. Oz by 18 percentage points with a 53 - 35 margin. But what Latinos are primarily concerned with is outreach, and many frequently express they don’t hear enough from candidates.

In the majority of cases, they don’t hear from nominees at all.

But beyond the polling, Fetterman is the leading candidate in PA who spent campaign dollars on ad buys targeting the Commonwealth’s districts with the largest Hispanic population, voiced by Gisele Barreto Fetterman, who is of Brazilian descent.

In the commercials, Fetterman does not address policy issues, but his foray into Latino strongholds may give the Lt. Governor an opportunity to deliver his platform directly to the ears of the electorate.

Dr. Oz, in turn, visited Allentown during Hispanic Heritage Month as part of a listening tour into Latino-owned businesses, a similar tactic that gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro, the Commonwealth’s Attorney General, adopted a few months earlier.

In addition to listening tours, Shapiro, like Fetterman, released a series of commercials in Spanish.

His opponent, State Senator Mastriano, the Republican candidate for Governor, and Dr. Oz remain the two Pennsylvania candidates who have yet to reach into campaign coffers to perform commercial Latino outreach.
