An UnFURgettable Game: Puppy Bowl XIV Watch Party in Philly
Wag your tails, Philly: the most anticipated sports event of the year is streaming at a bar near you (and no need to grease the poles for this one, PD).
It's THE PUPPY BOWL!
For the fourteenth year in a row, the Puppy Bowl will be airing on Animal Planet, shortly before Super Bowl Sunday. Team Fluff and Team Ruff will, once again, butt heads, fumble, and take a licking, all to achieve the coveted “Lombarky” trophy. Don’t worry, though. A veterinarian and representatives from the ASPCA are always on site during game day to guarantee that all of the four-legged athletes are treated pawperly.
And, no matter the outcome, all 90 fur babies on this year’s roster will have the opportunity to be adopted into a loving home!
At the Puppy Bowl, everybody wins.
Like the human Superbowl, Philadelphia will be reppin’ with soft ears and wet noses on the field.
Daisy the Chihuahua is from ACCT Philly, Lila the Jack Russell terrier mix and Hinesville the Mixed Breed are both from Morris Animal Refuge, and Neville Longbottom the Pit mix is from Street Tails Animal Rescue.
CONTENIDO RELACIONADO
Puppy Bowl XIV focused on recruiting puppies to join their cuddle-huddles from shelters in hurricane-affected areas, such as Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
Other animal talent at the Puppy Bowl will include: a riveting National Anthem performed by Jokgu the piano-playing chicken, a sloth rufferee, and a barnyard cheerleading squad. Puppy Bowl will also be hosting the first-ever Dog Bowl, featuring adult doggos and old floofs. Team Wags and Team Tails will be tackling each other, rolling around, and taking the occasional time-out nap. Ages of these sagacious and experienced players range from 2 to 15.
One of these footballers goes by the name of Pawton Manning.
If you think you can handle all of the emotional highs and lows, the close awww-nalysis from the sideline repawters, or the halftime kitties, then Devil’s Den on 1148 South 11th Street is the place for you this Sunday.
Devil’s Den, Lagunitas Brewery, and Morris Animal Refuge are teaming up on February 4th. From 3-6 PM, pub patrons will have the chance to partake in a snuggle station, a puppy photo booth, a meet-and-greet with Puppy Bowl 2018 contestants (it isn’t recorded live), and dog-themed food and beer specials. A portion of the proceeds made throughout the evening will go towards Morris Animal Refuge.
Admission is free and open to the public, but canine friends have been politely asked to stay at home.
