Mayor Kenney to attend the ‘I am an American Immigrant’ Award Ceremony
Mayor Jim Kenney, a well-known proponent of diversity and inclusion who speaks openly about his support for immigrants in Philadelphia, will attend the “I am an American Immigrant” Award Ceremony.
Mayor Kenney will give his welcoming remarks during the cocktail reception, which begins at 5:30 p.m. During this reception, hors d'oeuvre and beverages will be served and those attending can enjoy the musicality of Minas. The ceremony will be held at at the National Museum of American Jewish History on June 14 and tickets can be purchased here.
The ceremony is the culmination of a six-month editorial campaign showcasing the contributions that immigrants make in the Philadelphia area and beyond. The project was launched in December 2017 when AL DÍA opened the call for nominations of Hispanic and Latino immigrants who make a positive impact in their community. From all the nominations received, 12 finalists were chosen by the selection committee and every week afterward, the story of a candidate was presented in our publication.
