PA House Representative- Elect Emilio Vazquez can't get too comfortable
Write-in winner Emilio Vazquez may have won the 197th District election on March 24th, but not everyone is happy with the final results.
The North Philadelphia district includes predominantly Latino neighborhoods such as Hunting Park and North Square. Vazquez, the only Latino on the ballot, was the only leading Latino contender this late in the election, but he was also unable to be placed on the ballot.
One of the more bittersweet wins for the PA House of Representatives, the District attorney’s office announced the day Vazquez was declared winner that they would be investigating the election.

And now, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro has been added to the mix.
Though there were speculations of voter fraud, the reports that fueled the controversy surrounding the election were focusing on illegal election practices. Everything from illegal voter assistance, electioneering and other allegations are mounting, especially from Republican candidate Lucinda Little, and Green Party write-in candidate Cheri Honkala.
Attorney General Josh Shapiro has been called in to referee and will join the DA’s office in the investigation Shapiro said the offices “will ultimately make a charging determination based on evidence,” according to CBS3.
