Rosalía is on the new cover of Rolling Stone
The artist spoke about her album 'Motomami,' and her experiences in the music industry.
With Rosalía's album Motomami ranked as one of the best of the year, Rolling Stone made her its feature for its January 2023 edition.
The special, "How Rosalía became pop's most fearless superstar" tells the story of how the artist was able to record "one of the most audacious albums of 2022" thanks to her ability to adapt to the industry.
One of the points narrated in the interview is about the song "Hentai," in which Rosalía talks about the pleasures of good sex with a Disney-inspired piano melody.
"It is the most playful, perverse and liberated moment of the album," the magazine mentions, emphasizing the taboos that exist about certain erotic themes that "restrict freedom" and that the artist captured through her music.
"Feminine energy, there is an erotic superiority in femininity. Why not write from there? Why not make a song from that place, where you own your desires?" reads the article on Motomami.

The Catalan's album is described by the magazine as "a collision of styles and genres that gathers all the commotion that surrounds her in a bright and bold statement," however the star herself catalogs it as "a chaotic record" within the interview.
Motomami was listed as one of the best albums of 2023 by Rolling Stone, TIME and Spotify, thanks to its rhythmic diversity.
"I wanted the album to be like an emotional rollercoaster, which is what I was feeling at that moment in my life. I wanted that dynamic, that constant feeling of give and take," said Rosalía.
Through her music, she said she wants other people to be able to encounter the artists that move her, as her inspiration comes from different places and references.
