Barranquilla is celebrating. Today, Shakira's hometown welcomes its most illustrious daughter with open arms in a concert that marks a high point in her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour."

Shakira is from Barranquilla and this can be an opportunity to celebrate her career.

The concert in the Colombian coastal city is not only a celebration of her music and career, but also a testimony to the artist's adaptation, which has remained in force for more than 30 years. She has understood that the essence of pop is to be willing to try all the trends. That is why she has continued making music and achieved collaborations that have relaunched her in a context where urban music and especially reggaeton predominate.

She always understood that she could not remain static. Throughout her distinguished career, Shakira has collaborated with a wide range of artists of various genres and nationalities.

In 2005, Shakira teamed up with Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz to release "La Tortura" which fuses Latin rhythms with pop, becoming a classic in her repertoire.

Then came 'Beautiful Liar' with Beyonce in 2007: this single reached the top of the international charts quickly and reached third place on the Billboard chart and first place in many countries such as Australia, Croatia and France, among many others.

Then she glimpsed the emergence of a great trend that became global: reggaeton. That is why she made her first collaboration with the urban genre together with Maluma and the song 'Chantaje'.

Carlos Vives with 'La Bicicleta' and Bizarrap with 'Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53' were other of the artist's collaborations.

These collaborations reflect Shakira's versatility and her ability to adapt to different styles in a context in which trends change rapidly.El nuevo tour

"Las Mujeres No Ya Lloran Tour" has been one of the most anticipated tours of the year. Since the release of her latest album, which bears the same name and has been a smash hit on streaming platforms, Shakira has reaffirmed her place as one of the most influential Latin artists in the world. Her return to the stage was promising and the first dates of the tour have not disappointed.

However, not everything has been easy. During her time in Peru, Shakira faced health problems that forced her to cancel a presentation, generating concern among her followers. Shortly after, information about her medical history was leaked, an invasion of her privacy that reignited the debate about media harassment and ethics in the treatment of public figures. Despite these setbacks, the singer has demonstrated her strength by quickly recovering and continuing with her tour, fulfilling her promise to fans to give her all on stage.

A global star

Since her beginnings in the 90s with Pies Descalzos, Shakira has built a career that has led her to become a global icon. Her fusion of Latin rhythms with pop and rock, her particular voice and her charismatic presence on stage have made her an unmatched reference. The Barranquilla native already has 15 Latin Grammys, 4 Grammys and was the person of the year in the 2011 version of the Latin Grammys.

But Shakira is much more than a pop star. She has had considerable philantropic work through her Pies Descalzos Foundation bringing educational infrastructure to children in different parts of Colombia. Additionally, her activism in favor of the rights of migrants and the Latino community in the United States has made her an influential voice on social and political issues.

Today's concert in Barranquilla is not only a reunion with her roots, but proof that Shakira represents the universal Latina: a woman who has conquered the world without losing her identity. Her story is that of many Latin women who are fighting across the continent to show what they are capable of.

In an industry that has often underestimated Latin artists, Shakira has proven that talent and perseverance are part of success. Tonight, in her homeland, her voice will resonate again.
