Juanes is in the late stages of releasing his next album in 2023, which has the same name as a new single he's set to drop next week: Amores Prohibidos. 

The new album "is the result of his experience as a composer, in which he makes a very personal reflection during the pandemic, to reexamine life, love, family and his own emotional complexities," the Colombian told El Espectador.

His new single was announced with a post on Instagram, where Juanes is seen with a dark background and with his right hand over his heart. In the caption he writes: "NOV 10 2022 - AMORES PROHIBIDOS 🔜🔥" as a teaser to his fans. 

The Colombian also posted a video on TikTok featuring some previews of the song, with some "surprises" such as the chords of a guitar and flute.    

Regarding the upcoming single, songwriter Sebastian Krys told Cadena Dial that "Juanes has reconnected with his innovative and daring songwriting that defined him at the beginning of his career. This song sounds 100% Juanes and at the same time is different from anything he has done before. Juanes has always been an innovator. Writing during the pandemic made him connect with his day to day life. His children, his wife, his music, his fears and passions. It is evident to me that he has tapped into another level of musical exploration and curiosity that only few artists ever achieve."

"Amores Prohibidos" will be available on all platforms starting next week. It is a co-production of Juanes and Krys.
