Rauw Alejandro and his character for 'Cosa Nuestra'
The Puerto Rican talked to Billboard about the details of his new studio album.
For the development of his seventh album, Rauw Alejandro created a character that reflects the essence of the songs and named him Raul, after his father, he revealed to Billboard.
“My dad's name is Raul, so everyone calls me Raulito. I was Raulito in 'Saturno', a younger character, more active in the street, in the neighborhood. But now I'm Raúl, a more adult guy who lives in New York and recreates the time when Puerto Ricans emigrated to the city,” said the artist.
'Cosa Nuestra' is inspired by the Fania All-Stars salsa album, released in 1969, but also mixes other rhythms such as funk, disco and R&B.

Although salsa is not this musician's forte, he himself says that it is something he carries in his blood and in his culture. That's why he took the risk, for the first time, of using live band and music in almost the entire project.
“It's quite a character, and I call it 'character' because I see it as an overall concept. The music goes hand in hand with the visuals, the videos, the photos,” mentioned Rauw Alejandro while talking to the magazine about his character ‘Raul’:
'Cosa Nuestra', will be Rauw Alejandro's seventh album, which will feature tracks such as 'Touching The Sky' and 'Déjame Entrar'. It will be distributed by Sony Music US Latin.
