After overcoming her father's legal custody that did not allow her to get pregnant, singer Britney Spears announced to her followers this Monday on her Instagram profile that she is pregnant with her third child.

"Well I took a pregnancy test and well... I'm having a baby," the singer said in a lengthy post after commenting that she had gained weight in recent days and that encouraged her to take the test.

Spears also admitted in her post that she will be going out less to avoid paparazzi photos and confessed that in her two previous pregnancies she suffered from perinatal depression.

"Women didn't talk about it then. Some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her, but now women talk about it every day. Thank Jesus we don't have to keep that pain a secret reserved," she added.

Dream baby 

Last year, Britney pleaded with the California court to end her legal guardianship, and complained that, although she would like to have a baby, her father as guardian would not let her go to the doctor to remove the IUD (intrauterine device) she had inserted against her will.

At the end of last year, the mechanism by which the singer's father held the reins of her finances and personal life for nearly 14 years was ended, a legal situation so controversial that it resulted in international scandal thanks to the insistence of Spears' fans under the #FreeBritney movement. 

After the release of her guardianship, the singer said she would marry her boyfriend and look for a new baby. 

The artist is the mother of two sons, Sean and Jayden, whom she had with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
