In the sweetest moment of her career, the Brazilian singer Anitta announced that she will release her new album “Versions of me” on April 12. Her most recent success was the video clip of “Envolver”, a seductive reggaeton song in Spanish, released with the goal of expanding her fan base throughout the Latin world.

Anitta can now celebrate that her song has exceeded 100 million views on YouTube. In addition, she was the first artist who managed to position herself at number 1 on the Spotify Global Chart, without having any collaboration on the celebrated song. On the popular streaming platform, her hit generates more than 3.6 million daily reproductions, and already accumulates more than 78 million. She is a woman of records, and is willing to add more.

It’s still unknown which languages will figure on her upcoming album, which will be her fifth album since her 2013 debut “Anitta”. Then it was followed by “Ritmo Perfeito” (2014), “Bang!” (2015) and “Kisses” (2019). Anyway, she intends to continue conquering Latin hearts: with “Envolver” she reached #2 on Apple Music in Brazil, Mexico and Paraguay, and #3 in Panama, Peru and Paraguay.

When she found out that her successful song hit the top, she couldn't believe it. “Number one in the world, I really don't know what to say. A Latin woman who becomes the first soloist to top the world ranking. I’m the only one in the history of my country to have a top 5 song in the world. It's amazing”, she celebrated on twitter after hearing the news.

Anitta exploited the Tik Tok boom during the pandemic to promote her song in Spanish. Doing a twerk move, she attracted the attention of hundreds of thousands of followers. Her song follows the classic reggaeton formula: catchy rhythm, lyrics of love and desire, and an explicit video clip, where the singer and a shirtless dancer dance and wiggle shamelessly.

Anitta's dance on Tik Tok became so popular that she began to receive a barrage of videos of people imitating her steps, some humorous. On Instagram, 257,000 reels of people copying her steps have been created.

Recently, the Brazilian released a remix of the same song "Envolver", this time accompanied by Justin Quiles, in a new video that is also making an impact.

As a result of her achievements, she has received two nominations for the Latin American Music Awards 2022. Specifically, she aspires to win the category of “Favorite Video” for her video “Girl from Río”, and the category “Favorite Artist Social”. The ceremony will be held on April 21 at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

Her next live performances will be on stage at Coachella 2022 in Indio, California, on April 16 and 23.
