Anitta will appear in the seventh season of 'Elité'
Netflix recently made the announcement about the Brazilian singer's casting.
On Thursday, March 9, Netflix and Anitta revealed in a post on Instagram that she will join the cast of Élite for its seventh season.
"A 'girl from Rio' you already know is about to arrive at Las Encinas... Anitta joins the cast of #Élite7," reads the post alongside a photo of the artist .
Anitta will arrive at Las Encinas high school, where the series is set, to add to a story that's spanned six seasons since 2018. The singer will perform alongside stars Ester Espósito, Miguel Bernardeau and Arón Piper.

Anitta's role in the series is yet another milestone for the singer — now on the small screen — after becoming the first Brazilian and Latin American artist to reach number one on Spotify's global chart with a solo song. She is also the first Brazilian to win an MTV VMA and an American Music Award.
The Brazilian's news also came shortly after the pop star attacked Warner Music on Twitter, saying she regrets signing with them. In support, her fans have raised the #FreeAnitta movement.
On Oct. 25, 2022, Netflix confirmed the new season of Élite, a series created by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona. Actor Omar Ayuso will once again play the protagonist.
So far, Netflix has not revealed more details about the role Anitta will play in the series.
