Austin's famous South by Southwest (SXSW) music, film and technology event will expand this year to include a pre-conference on Latinos in tech.

In a press release from Kapor Center for Social Impact, the organization announced that they were partnering with Latina Bloggers Connect to plan the first ever Latino Technology Conference to take place just before SXSW.

"The participation of Latinos as attendees, speakers and panelist in important conferences like SXSW is minimal," Ana Flores of Latina Bloggers Connect said in the press release. "We are hoping that this pre-conference will help to move that number in the right direction."

The conference will address topics like social media, public policy, the state of Latinas in tech and even street art, all of which will be presented by more than 30 professionals from the tech industry. The 10-day SXSW conference will begin on March 7.
