If the pope says it, then it must be truethe internet is a "gift from God."

In a message to Catholics around the world, Pope Francis spoke highly of digital communications but added that, "the desire for digital connectivity can have the effect of isolating us from our neighbors."

Despite common concerns about technology making people anti-social, a recent article from the New York Times asserted otherwise. In fact, technology could be bringing us together in public spaces rather than virtual ones. Technology connects people across the world, physically and orally. Last year, a student from New York University designed an developed an app that could connect children with their parents in war-torn countries and refugee camps.

If nothing else, the internet has projected millions of voices across the globe that have mixed to brew revolutions, hold leaders accountable and fight for human rights. And now, the internet has a 'thumbs up' from Pope Francis. What's next?
