Philadelphia law firm Ross Feller Casey, LLP has added a seasoned Latino legal professional onto its ranks in James P. Faunes.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Faunes has joined as a new trial attorney for the firm. 

In a Linkedin post, Faunes noted that he will “continue to represent folks who have been severely injured by medical malpractice, detective products, and dangerous construction operations.” 

Faunes is a litigator with about a decade of experience in the legal sector. 

He began his professional career at the City of Philadelphia Law Department, where he was relatively quickly promoted to the rank of Deputy City Solicitor.

He is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where he earned a B.A. in history before receiving his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

For the past 7 years, he worked with the firm Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock Dodig LLP, primarily representing clients in medical malpractice, birth injury and other catastrophic personal injury cases. He also has experience in civil rights and insurance bad faith matters. 

He originally joined the firm in 2016. In January 2022, he became a partner with the firm.

As he embarks on his new journey with Ross Feller Casey, LLP, Faunes remains incredibly thankful to his previous employer.

“I’m thankful for and indebted to my colleagues, friends, and mentors at Feldman Shepherd… for seven years of professional and personal guidance. That the FS team are first class litigators is well-known, but they’ve been substantially more than that for me,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post.

In addition to his work at law firms, Faunes has also always been very active within the legal community and the overall Philadelphia and Latino communities. 

Last year, he was appointed as the Vice Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention. He also sits on numerous Boards, including the Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Legal Assistance, the Homeless Advocacy Project, and others.

Faunes also previously served as a past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania and is a former president of the Hispanic Bar Association Legal Education Fund. 

In each role Faunes has filled in his career, his mission has remained consistent.
