The Sisterly Love Collective, an alliance of several prominent women restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs, have announced its upcoming “Cookbooks & Convos” series.

The series will feature a number of events, including book signings, happy hours, demos, collaborative dinners, and more.

The alliance is co-hosted by Jennifer Carroll, Sofia Deleon, Jill Weber, and Ellen Yin.

“Cookbooks & Convos” is inspired by the beloved Philadelphia program, “The Book and The Cook.” It lasted 23 years, from 1984 to 2007, and provided a platform for cookbook authors to collaborate with Philadelphia restaurants.

The Sisterly Love Collaborative is reinvigorating the essence of the program with its “Cookbook & Convos” series, adding a twist featuring female artists and talents.

From September 22 to October 24, the “Cookbooks & Convos” series will feature a full line-up of events with some of the top female culinary talent from across the country.

Latinas will be represented as part of the diverse lineup of authors and chefs.

The lineup will kick off on September 22 with Mariana Velásquez, author of Colombiana: A Rediscovery of Recipes and Rituals from the Soul of Colombia. A food stylist with more than a decade of styling amongst New York’s most celebrated culinary circles and publication across the world, Velásquez will be participating with Jezabel Careaga at Jezabel’s Cafe.

On October 9, Shari Bayer, host & producer of All in the Industry and author of ChefWise, Life Lessons from Chefs Around the World, will be participating with Sofi Deleon of El Merkury.

In addition, on October 23, Bricia Lopez, Chef and co-owner of Guelaguetza, a Oaxacan restaurant in Los Angeles will participate with Jill Weber at Sor Ynez.
