The Washington, D.C.-based global investigative firm Nardello & Co. recently announced the addition of Edgar Zurita as its new CEO. He's an investigative, litigation, public policy and law enforcement expert.

With more than two decades of experience, Zurita, who has extensive experience in Latin America, served at the Mexican Embassy as minister and chief liaison officer with international law enforcement agencies in North America.

Dan Nardello, chairman and CEO of Nardello & Co, noted:

We are thrilled to welcome Edgar, whose proven record leading transnational investigations will further bolster our global capabilities.

Career and recognitions

During his tenure in the diplomatic post, Zurita, who has a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA from the Universidad Latinoamericana, worked closely with international coalitions such as United Nations, the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism, the Inter-American Council for Integral Development, and the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing and Trafficking of Firearms, Explosives, and Ammunition.

Renowned for leading multilingual and multi-jurisdictional investigations as well as cybersecurity collaborations across the Americas, Zurita possesses an in-depth understanding of the Latin American business and cultural landscape, honed during nearly 20 years of service with the Mexican federal government, in institutions such as the Supreme Court of Justice, the Office of the Attorney General, the Federal Police and the National Security Commission.

Most recently, he worked as a regional director focused on Latin America for the technology company Glomark-Governan.

Before his diplomatic service, Zurita, who in addition to Spanish speaks French, worked as a lawyer, focusing on corporate law, criminal litigation and intellectual property.

He was President of the Latin American Association of Police Attachés, successfully participating as a NAFTA negotiator for the Temporary Entry (Migration) and Labor chapters, as well as advisor to the Secretary General of the United Nations.

“Nardello & Co.’s global platform and reputation for handling the most complex investigations make it an ideal fit for me. I look forward to joining this world-class team and helping our clients protect their businesses and overcome critical challenges,” stressed Zurita.

A new stage

Zurita is the latest high-profile hire for Nardello & Co., which opened a Los Angeles office in 2022 — the firm's seventh globally — and welcomed CEOs Howard Master, Chris Urben and Chris Ribeiro in the U.S., and Alan Kennedy and Daria Plakhova-Freshville in London.

“As the firm continues its expansion, Edgar’s nuanced understanding of Latin American government, policy and law enforcement will greatly benefit our clients doing business in the region and throughout the world,” added Nardello.
