The talented Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez is the producer and lead actor of the comedy series “Y llegaron la noche”, which will premiere on October 4th on the ViX platform. The plot is inspired by real events and tells the story of how a group of Latinos produced a Spanish version of the 1931 classic 'Dracula', considered by some as “a superior version to the original”.
According to an official statement from the platform, “while Bela Lugosi filmed during the day, another cast and crew arrived at night to make the film in Spanish, using the same set, costumes and a translated script, working from dusk to dawn”.

Derbez, along with Ben Odell and Javier Williams, served as executive producer and also directed the first episode. In Derbez's own words, “we were looking for a different, fun and inspiring story,” according to EFE.
TelevisaUnivision has emphasized that this production is “inspired by real life,” offering a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of 'Dracula' in 1930.
The series will mark Derbez's return to Spanish-language comedy after an absence of more than ten years. It also represents the first original comedy under the preferred access agreement between his production company, 3Pas Studios, and ViX. After the premiere of the first two episodes, a new episode will be released every Friday.
