J Balvin and Anitta Confirmed for the 2022 VMAs

Two Latin artists have already been confirmed for the 2022 VMAs show lineup.

The first list of performers for this year's Video Music Awards has been officially announced, and some of your favorite artists are set to take the stage.

This Friday, August 5, MTV unveiled the first four artists set to perform at the 2022 Video Music Awards show - J Balvin, Panic! at the Disco, Anitta and Marshmello with Khalid are the confirmed performers so far. 

The MTV VMAs 2022 will be broadcast live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, August 28th at 8 PM ET. 

Brazilian singer Anitta will perform her new single "Envolver" live for the first time on television, as will artist Marshmello who will make his VMAs main stage debut, and the latter will bring along Khalid to perform his recent single "Numb." 

Panic! at the Disco will also premiere their new single "Middle of a Breakup" at the event, marking their first return to the VMAs stage since 2018.

Meanwhile, J Balvin will premiere new music at the VMAs with the song "Nivel de Perreo" featuring Ryan Castro. The Colombian will have the opportunity to become the most decorated Latin artist in VMAs history, as he has 13 nominations, including Best Latin for with "In Da Getto." 

Voting for fans will remain open through Friday, August 19 via the vote.mtv.com website.

MTV will announce in the coming weeks additional artists who will participate in the show at the next Video Music Awards in 2022.
