Kenyan-Mexican actor Arap Bethke will star in And you, what are you going to do?: a new docuseries co-produced by the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato and TV4Guanajuato, which seeks to promote the natural attractions, culture, gastronomy and towns of the Mexican state as a new tourist destination. Guanajuato City, home to close to 200,000 people, is located in central Mexico.

Its tourism promotion advocates sustainability, care for the environment, and natural resources. Considering Bethke's activism for ecological causes, his passion for sports, travel and cooking, the Kenyan-Mexican actor was chosen as the figurehead for the campaign.

For the docu-reality series, the production will prepare a backpack for Bethke with contents he will discover once he reaches his first destination. The actor will visit towns such as Dolores Hidalgo, Comonfort, Jalpa de Cánovas, Salvatierra, Yuriria, and Mineral de Pozos. His trip includes tours of the Guanajuato Capital and San Miguel de Allende, which are recognized by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Arap is well-known for raising public awareness of the environment on social media. He currently serves as an ambassador for the Green Latin America Awards: the most important sustainability festival in the world that recognizes the best social and environmental projects.

In 2021 his name appeared in the list of "The 100 most influential Latinos committed to climate action." Pope Francis, Colombian singers Shakira and Carlos Vives, Mexican actor Gael García, Spaniards Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, Fher from the group Maná, Diego Luna, Eva Longoria, were also part of the same top 100.

His commitment to environmental causes has led him to join Greenpeace Mexico, be named Ambassador of the Environment by The Climate Project Mexico, become a spokesperson for The Climate Reality Project alongside Al Gore, and be a spokesperson for the campaign The Ocean: The Great Provider.

Besides his activism, Bethke has a long acting career. He's worked on 12 films and 20 television productions not only in Mexico, but also in the United States and other Latin American countries. Some of his projects are Club de Cuervos and La Piloto, (both available on Netflix), Guadalupe Reyes, Sin Origen, La Usurpadora (all three available on Amazon Prime Video), Class 406, RBD La Familia, My Generation, Doña Bárbara, Los Victorinos, The Crowned Goddess, Land of Passions, Mother Moon, Señora Acero and Eva La Trailera. Lately he has worked on the films Allowed, Mal de Ojo and Want To Win, which will premiere soon.
