Discover Guanajuato with actor Arap Bethke
The Kenyan-Mexican actor Arap Bethke, considered one of the 100 Latinos most committed to climate action, is Guanajuato's new tourism ambassador.
Kenyan-Mexican actor Arap Bethke will star in And you, what are you going to do?: a new docuseries co-produced by the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato and TV4Guanajuato, which seeks to promote the natural attractions, culture, gastronomy and towns of the Mexican state as a new tourist destination. Guanajuato City, home to close to 200,000 people, is located in central Mexico.
Its tourism promotion advocates sustainability, care for the environment, and natural resources. Considering Bethke's activism for ecological causes, his passion for sports, travel and cooking, the Kenyan-Mexican actor was chosen as the figurehead for the campaign.
For the docu-reality series, the production will prepare a backpack for Bethke with contents he will discover once he reaches his first destination. The actor will visit towns such as Dolores Hidalgo, Comonfort, Jalpa de Cánovas, Salvatierra, Yuriria, and Mineral de Pozos. His trip includes tours of the Guanajuato Capital and San Miguel de Allende, which are recognized by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
