Lin-Manuel Miranda to collaborate with Marc Anthony on concept album
The work will be an adaptation of the classic “Warriors”.
Puerto Rican playwright and composer that next October will see the release of the concept album 'Warriors', which he co-wrote, and which will feature salsa singer Marc Anthony.
The release of this album is scheduled for October 18th and will be an “immersive listening experience that follows a fictional New York City gang from Coney Island to The Bronx and back, when they are framed for the murder of a respected gang leader, Cyrus,” Lin-Manuel explained through a statement.
Nas, the New York rapper is the producer of this musical work along with American actress and performer Eisa Davis.

The new concept album is inspired by the film of the same name, released in 1979 and based on the novel written by Sol Yurick. It will feature 26 songs and will be distributed through Atlantic Records.
“We've spent the last three years putting the Warriors' journey home from the South Bronx to Coney Island to music,” Miranda and Davis said in a joint statement. “Along the way we've worked with many of our favorite artists, whose roles on the album we'll be announcing in the coming weeks. We can't wait to share these songs with you on October 18.”
