Camila Cabello reveals a new preview of her next album, 'Familia'
The album will deepen the Latin sounds that influenced Cabello since childhood and characterized her family so much
Dressed in a t-shirt emblazoned with the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, Camila Cabello stood in front of her smartphone to sing a new single off her upcoming album to her followers.
“Available next April 8,” revealed the American singer and actress of Cuban origin on her social media platforms.
Although she sang and posted the lyrics of the song, she has not yet released its title. On Instagram, her fans were enthusiastic.
"You're rocking it with these new songs, we can't wait any longer for the new album!" one user wrote. Others celebrated "the beautiful voice" of Cabello.
The released fragment of just over a minute, reveals the story of a sentimental relationship that deteriorates over time. Although the protagonists do not want to break up, they separate due to inertia.

"When I'm afraid of the world, when every part of me hurts, you don't know how many times you’ve saved me," the chorus rings.
Familia will be the singer's third studio album, after Romance (2019) and Camila (2018). Since she began her career as a solo singer in 2015, she's had powerful collaborations with Shawn Mendes, Alejandro Sanz, Mark Ronson, Travis Scott and Cashmere Cat, among others.
As was said in a press release, the third album will deepen the Latin sounds that influenced Cabello since childhood that characterized her family so much. The lyrics will deal with aspects of everyday life, as shown in the singles "Don't go yet" and "Bam Bam," in which Ed Sheeran also takes part. In both, she plays with a risky and innovative mix of cumbia and pop.
She also released a live version for "La Buena Vida” on a stream for NPR's Tiny Desk series, where she honors her father's Mexican roots. In the clip, she appears singing in English surrounded by a band of Mexican musicians. Their guitars, violins and wind instruments give rhythm to Cabello, remembering that "in life, what matters is love."
In addition to “Bam Bam,” the new album will feature three other collaborations. “Lola,” composed with the Cuba's Yotuel, pays tribute to all the women who had to flee the island country to seek a better life. “Hasta los dientes,” sung as a duet with the Argentina's María Becerra; and another collaboration with Willow, titled “Pichofreak.”
Imitating Rosalía’s successful strategy, Cabello will present her album with a special live show on TikTok on April 8, the launch day of Familia. The event will be called 'Welcome to the Family,' and she will perform all the songs in a show where she will constantly alternate the scenery and costumes.
