February begins with great news for Encanto fans, as the Billboard Hot 100 announced that the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno," performed by Colombians Carolina Gaitan and Mauro Castillo, Americans Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, and Argentina's Stephanie Beatriz, is #1 in the United States.

"We don't talk about Bruno" is the second Disney song to hit number one, after Aladdin's "A Whole New World" did the same 29 years ago, in 1993.

It is quite a feat for a theme song from an animated movie to overtake the hits of music stars. The Disney song overtook Adele's "Easy On Me," which had been at the top spot for several weeks.

"We don't talk about Bruno" tells part of the story of the mysterious character of Encanto, the uncle that no one talks about in public and reflects a family issue that is an open secret and generates controversy.

"Children have always liked creepy songs, half scary, and this one says for example: 'Terror on his face, rats from behind, when he hears your name there is no turning back,'" explained Mauro Castillo, actor who plays the voice of Felix Madrigal, to BBC Mundo.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who has extensive experience in the music of theatrical and film creations, said that for the construction of the film's soundtrack he was inspired by the theater.

"What I was trying to do is much more common in musical theater than in musical films. You have these great moments where everyone gets a little masterpiece and then you merge them together. I think of 'One Day More' from Les Miserables or 'Non-Stop' from Hamilton. It's always a lovely moment when you can overlay all the themes on top of each other," the director said in a recent interview with CNN.

The track is so catchy and has gone so viral that thousands of people have uploaded videos to TikTok singing and dancing to it in the background.

A total of seven songs from the Encanto soundtrack are currently on this Billboard Hot 100, all written by director Lin-Manuel Miranda:

1. "We don't talk about Bruno" by Carolina Gaitan, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the cast of Encanto.

9. "Surface Pressure" by Jessica Darrow.

11. "The Family Madrigal" by Stephanie Beatriz, Olga Merediz and the cast of Encanto.

27. "What else can I do" by Diane Guerrero & Stephanie Beatriz.

36. "Two Oruguitas" by Sebastián Yatra.

48. "Waiting On a Miracle" by Stephanie Beatriz.

82 "All of You" by Stephanie Beatriz, Olga Merediz, John Leguízamo, Adassa, Maluma and the cast of Encanto.
