Hundreds of taxi drivers took to Center City on Wednesday afternoon in protest of the unregulated ride-share services UberX and Lyft. They say that the presence of UberX and Lyft has crushed their business, and they are asking District Attorney Seth Williams to take legal action.

Even Uber Black drivers clogged the roundabout at City Hall and several blocks of Market Street heading east and west. The Philadelphia Parking Authority was reportedly called to impound vehicles that were left parked in the street, but the sheer volume of cars made it near impossible. The Parking Authority is also the agency that regulates medallion taxicabs in the city. While UberX and Lyft are legal in counties across the state, the PPA has not authorized them to operate in Philadelphia.

Parent company Uber, based in San Francisco, was fined $300,000 by the PPA earlier this year for UberX's continued operation, but services remained unaffected.
