Hundreds of local folks celebrated the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in the city, the largest outdoor event celebrating Puerto Rican and Latino heritage.

Normally scheduled for the last Sunday in September, the parade was moved to Sunday, October 4, because of the World Meeting of Families. Concilio’s Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade is the “Crown Jewel” of the Puerto Rican Festival every year.

The parade began in downtown Philadelphia at 16th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and ended at the Grand Stand at Logan’s Square.

El Festival del Coqui was one of the events that followed Philadelphia's Puerto Rican Day Parade where people could go to hear music, enjoy a variety of ethnic foods, and learn about Latino culture.
