The official papal itinerary has just been released, and on it is a Saturday address at Philadelphia's Independence Hall. On the docket: Immigration.

Pope Francis has spoken often about immigrants and refugees, in fact his prayer intentions (which are intoned worldwide at Masses) for the month of June are: "That immigrants and refugees may find welcome and respect in the countries to which they come."

Philadelphia has a particularly active and strong Latino immigrant faith community, who not only fill the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul during patronal feast days, but make a devotion out of advocating for justice. From a quarter million strong immigration march in Washington to vigils in front of the ICE building on Callowhill, immigrants carry their faith with them to rally and vigil. During Latino Catholic processions and celebration the hymn sung is the apt Santa María del camino:

Even if some tell you

that nothing can change

fight for a new world

fight for the truth.

Come walk with us, Mary, come.
