Philly named third best city for workers without college degree
Philadelphia is one of the best cities for workers without a college degree, according to real estate blog Movoto.
Movoto determined the ranking using the percentage of employed high school grads, the percentage of those who had health insurance, and their median annual income from the U.S. Census Five Year American Community Survey (2009-2013).
Philadelphia ranked third on the list, behind Henderson, Nevada (second) and North Las Vegas (first).
“The largest city in Pennsylvania easily makes this list with some pretty surprising stats. For starters, this big city had the sixth highest percent of non-college grads who were currently employed,” Movoto says.
The blog does point out that Philadelphia has a lower median income for those without a college degree ($27,330), but that is also has the highest percent of high school grads that have health care.
