Project H.O.M.E. proudly announces that Hub of Hope will be serving the homeless in Center City for the rest of the winter.

It has been two weeks since Hub of Hope found themselves without a venue to run their mobile homeless services center. After being booted from Suburban Station and scrambling to find a new space in the same vicinity, Project H.O.M.E. proudly announced today that the Hub will reopen for the rest of the winter at its first location beneath 2 Penn Center.

“I think the main thing is that we’re just really excited,” Orrick told AL DÍA. “Not having the space really made us appreciate the space we had.”

For the last three years, Hub of Hope has been providing much-needed social services to Philadelphia’s homeless in the concourse of Suburban Station. Prior to that, they worked out of a space between 2 Penn Center. Landlords of the Center City underground have been generous enough to donate space for the cause.

Over the last several weeks, multiple organizations and individuals have reached out to secure the Hub a new location. SEPTA is especially excited about its return. Chief of SEPTA Transit Thomas Nestel tweeted his excitement about the news:

In addition, Hub has requested the following donations to help keep the homeless in good spirits this winter: socks, underwear, boots, gloves, coffee cups, sugar, creamer, and coffee.

“We look to open the doors to the Hub of Hope next week and look forward to making strategic strides in our work to end homelessness,” Orrick wrote in a press release. “None of us are home until all of us are home.”
