District Attorney Seth Williams and Fox 29's Mike Jerrick hosted the first “Ya Gotta Try This Tasting Party” to benefit the Second Chance Foundation, Thursday at Independence Visitor Center.

The event featured dozens of must-try dishes and drinks from local bars, restaurants and eateries in Philly, including some that don't often hit the festival circuit. 

“I am supporting The Second Chance Foundation simply because I believe in second chances. It is that simple,” said Jerrick, a board member of the foundation.

“The foundation provides funding for organizations which are helping at-risk youth get back on track and give them resources and encouragement to turn their lives around,” he added.

The event paid homage to Jerrick's weekly segment that shows dishes from restaurants in the region, like the ones in these pictures:

From top to bottom, smoked salmon mousse with dill and chives in squid ink cone, sun dried tomato pesto hummus in fire roasted tomato cone, and Asian crab salad in a sesame cone, from Brulee Catering by Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix.
 

Slice pizza had their signature Granny Pizza with sliced Granny Smith Apples baked with Gorgonzola cheese and cranberries and topped with candied walnuts, among others.
