Zyter|TruCare, a virtual health care platform, has announced that Joanne Berrios will serve as the company’s first Chief Value Officer.

As a value-based care system, their overarching goal is to create a system that brings value to their customers primarily, at as efficient a cost as possible.

In this role, Berrios will take general responsibility over financial oversight, drive product strategy, and ensure their clients and shareholders benefit from Zyter|TruCare’s decisions.

“It is an honor to join a prominent company leading this space,” said Berrios, in a statement. “Financial integration is core to value-based care. Aligning financial incentives and business value is the key to achieving high quality, productivity, and market growth.”

With over two decades of experience in the field, Berrios has held numerous positions. Prior to joining Zyter|TruCare, Berrios worked with Salesforce, in their Health and Life Sciences division, where she led their payer strategy.

Other roles she has held were that of Chief Financial Officer at GuideWell Health, and work with Ascension Health where she advanced their regional digital renovations and market strategy development.

She began her career with Arthur Andersen, LLP as a Public Accountant.

“Joanne is the right person to drive our value-based strategies,” said company CEO Kevin Riley, in a statement. “She understands the broader healthcare ecosystem and easily identifies enterprise strategic value for health plans, providers, and partners.”

As a member of the 2019 Carol Emmott Foundation Fellowship Class, she completed a 14-month leadership capacity accelerator program for women in leadership positions in the health industry.

She has also been recognized as one of Jacksonville’s Top 50 Women Leaders for 2023 by Women We Admire.

Berrios earned her Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Florida, and her Masters of accounting from University of North Florida. She is also an active Certified Professional Accountant.
