Biography

Teresa M. Lundy is a government affairs and public relations professional, who is the founder and principal of TML Communications. Established in 2015, TML Communications is one of the leading certified women- and minority-owned public relations, communications and advocacy firms across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Lundy has also worked as special assistant to the U.S. Congress, as well as supervising media coordinator at the City of Philadelphia.

She is also a graduate of Temple University, earning her bachelor’s degree in media studies & production and political science, after earning her associate of science degree in Liberal Studies from Montgomery County Community College.

Here are Teresa Lundy's responses:
1. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your professional career?

In the past, it was challenging to win government contracts and larger opportunities. As we have completed engagements with clients and built up a track record of success, we have been able to overcome these challenges.

2. What steps can be taken to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in your industry?

It would help if more contracts were awarded to Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises in order to level the playing field. One step would be for companies to recognize there is a disparity and implement programs to help small and minority businesses grow to their full potential.

Take a look at Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator Program.

Why is it important to do so?

Because without economic parity, there is no real progress.

3. What does being a leader mean to you?

The key traits of a leader are hard work, determination and being able to motivate team members towards a common goal.

4. Where do you see yourself in five years?

Creating more opportunities for people in the public relations industry, expanding our footprint across the United States, and significantly increasing our market share. We will become the trusted advisor to corporations and important causes seeking to shape the narrative to their target audience.
