Earlier this month, Donald Trump and Chinese president Xi Jinping enjoyed a gourmet dinner at the President's Mar-a-Lago resport in Florida. While both leaders discussed trade and foreign affairs issues, the daughter of the President Ivanka Trump secured China trademarks for her brands.
Ivanka Trump Marks LLC, has been granted four additional trademarks since her father’s inauguration and has 32 pending, according to the Associated Press, which first reported the new approvals. The expansion of Ivanka Trump's business abroad has sparked ethics concerns, considering Ivanka's job in the White House. Ivanka Trump was appointed assistant to the president last month, after previously saying she would not join her father’s administration.
Althoug Ivanka Trump no longer manages her clothing, jewellery and accessories brand, she still owns the business and is frequently seen wearing clothes from her own collection. She has put her business in a trust, run by family members, as reported in The Guardian.
