Philadelphia universities cancel and reschedule classes due to papal visit
Several Philadephia universities announce class cancelations.
At this point there is no doubt that Pope Francis' visit on September 26-27 will affect many people in the city. According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, Philadelphia universities have announced class cancelations and scheduling adjustments for these days.
Community College of Philadelphia
All classes are canceled for Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26.
Drexel University
At the University City, Center City and Queen Lane campuses, all classes taking place between 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 24 through Sunday, September 27 are canceled or rescheduled.
La Salle University
All classes and activities on Saturday, September 26 are canceled.
University of Pennsylvania
Classes and university-sponsored events will be canceled on Friday, Sept. 25. Designated essential personnel are still to report to work.
St. Joseph's University
St. Joe’s is canceling evening classes on Friday, Sept. 25 and all classes and activities on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27.
Temple University
Classes will be canceled on Friday, Sept. 25 at its local campuses. The TECH Center and Paley Library will remain open.
Villanova University
Villanova will operate on an adjusted schedule on Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26.
