Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is once again putting kids first with his “Keep It Cool” initiative, aimed at ensuring students in Philadelphia have safe and comfortable learning environments. For every touchdown he scores during the 2024-25 season, Hurts will donate $5,000 to the School District of Philadelphia to help fund much-needed air conditioning upgrades in local schools.

Last year, Hurts made headlines by donating $200,000 to the district, which funded the installation of over 300 air conditioning units across 10 schools. Despite these efforts, the need for improved cooling persists. During the first week of the new school year, 63 Philadelphia schools were forced to send students home early as temperatures inside the classrooms soared to unsafe levels.

"These conditions are unacceptable for our students," Hurts stated. "We need to do more to ensure that every child has a safe place to learn."

Hurts is committed to making a difference, whether or not he scores touchdowns. In addition to his touchdown-based donations, Hurts has pledged another $200,000 this season to improve conditions in 10 more schools. This effort is part of his broader commitment to provide a safer, healthier learning environment for Philadelphia students.

The Jalen Hurts Foundation has also launched a new season-long campaign called “TDs for ACs.” This initiative encourages fans and community members to join the effort by making one-time or monthly tax-deductible donations to the Keep It Cool Initiative.

With nearly 100 schools and over 50,000 students still enduring inadequate cooling conditions, the community's support is critical. Hurts' initiative aims to address these issues head-on, making significant strides toward providing better learning environments for students despite the challenges posed by extreme heat.

The Jalen Hurts Foundation’s efforts highlight the powerful impact that athletes can have off the field. By leveraging his platform and success, Hurts is not just scoring touchdowns—he’s scoring meaningful victories for the youth of Philadelphia.

Fans interested in contributing to the Keep It Cool Initiative can visit the Jalen Hurts Foundation website at https://jalenhurtsfoundation.eifoundation.org/page/keepitcoolinitiative to learn more and make a difference in the lives of thousands of students. Together, they can help create a brighter, cooler future for Philadelphia’s schools.
