AL DÍA 40 Under Forty Honoree: Danelsy Medrano
At the 40 Under Forty event, Danelsy Medrano will be one of the 40 honorees.
The inaugural AL DÍA 40 Under Forty event will be a showcase of the most diverse and impactful young professionals in various fields of work across the Philadelphia region.
At the virtual event, taking place August 20, 2020, Danelsy Medrano, 36, will be one of the 40 honorees. Currently, she is a VP, Portfolio Marketing and Customer Engagement for Mass Affluent – Freedom and Slate, at JP Morgan Chase.
As part of the lead-up to the event, AL DÍA asked each of the 40 honorees the same three questions and collected their responses.
Here are Danelsy Medrano’s responses:
My biggest challenge has been my constant battle with imposter syndrome in the professional environment. Really getting a good grip on the things I have been able to accomplish over the years and including the years I've put in and the knowledge and experience I bring to any table. A lot of times I found myself selling myself short.

My achievements are in the shape of the opportunity and lives I've been able to impact. Being the first Latina woman to speak at the Legal Marketing Association Annual conference is one of those moments, and the other was to speak at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, and help women start their business online.
For me, D&I will truly happen when I goes from "D&I efforts" to a "norm", "another day in the office, another resume to review". Also, when compensation is based on experience and when cultures and people are embraces for who they are not what they look like.
