The inaugural AL DÍA 40 Under Forty event will be a showcase of the most diverse and impactful young professionals in various fields of work across the Philadelphia region.

At the virtual event, taking place August 20, 2020, Emmanuel López-Capó, 33, will be one of the 40 honorees. Currently, he is the Senior Content Producer for NBC10/Telemundo62

As part of the lead-up to the event, AL DÍA asked each of the 40 honorees the same three questions and collected their responses.

Here are Emmanuel López-Capó’s responses:

What is the biggest challenge in your professional journey?

Continue my professional career outside of Puerto Rico. When I arrived in Philadelphia, I started working with a system that I had never used before. My approach was to master the tool and in just a few weeks I was able to flow normally. My determination and success gave me the opportunity to be part of an advisory committee to update and improve the system. Also, I was able to train my new colleagues to understand and maximize the use of the tool in the company.

What's your proudest achievement in your career?

To contribute daily to the service of the common good to guarantee the fundamental right of people to information. As a journalist, I feel honored to be able to belong to a company and a team committed to the truth and the feeling of the community. My work and north has always been to report honestly, fairly and accurately. This responsibility is key in the News Department, with which I identify.

Beyond corporate D&I efforts, what will make true inclusivity happen?

I work in a company committed to creating a culture of justice, respect and inclusion. This model is very important to ensure the participation of Hispanics, African Americans, Asians and other groups belonging to racial and ethnic minority communities. This diversity is also essential to the equity of LGBTQ workers.
