Amplify Latinx has officially named Eneida Román as its new President and CEO.

Román brings more than 20 years of experience in organizational development, conflict resolution, cultural competence and public affairs to the organization. In that time, she has developed a reputation as a catalytic pacesetter and an ardent champion of advancing women and Latinos across sectors nationwide.

In August 2022, inaugural executive director Rosario Ubiera-Minaya announced that she would be stepping down from her role after three years.

Since then, Amplify Latinx’s Transition Team has held the fort down, led by Román as the now former Chair of its Board of Directors.

Román is a co-founder of Amplify Latinx, and has been instrumental in delivering on the organization’s mission.

As a result, she was unanimously voted by the Board to serve as the organization’s first President and CEO.

“Eneida Román brings experience, leadership, and passion for our community,” said Brenda Sanchez, Amplify Latinx Board Chair in a statement.

She continued to highlight Román’s business leadership, entrepreneurship, and previous work experience that has provided her with “the necessary skills, understanding and knowledge to take Amplify Latinx to another level.”

“Her tireless work has been pivotal to the impact Amplify Latinx has had in the Latino community. She is stepping up to serve because it’s a moment to serve and maximize Amplify Latinx’s mission and vision,” Sanchez added.

Based in Massachusetts, Amplify Latinx is a nonprofit, non-partisan, collaborative convener committed to advancing Latinx leadership representation, economic prosperity, and civic engagement.

A trained attorney and organizational psychologist, Román will be taking a sabbatical from her private law practice to assume her new role as President & CEO of Amplify.

In the role, she will lead the organization’s mission to connect and champion Latinx civic and business leaders through high-impact initiatives that support their advancement and representation in leadership roles across various sectors.

“I am delighted to steward Amplify Latinx as we laser focus on the power, promise, and potential of the Latino community. Because it is imperative that leaders across sectors understand that when Latinos thrive in a shared prosperity, our entire region thrives,” said Román in a statement.

As a “lifelong entrepreneur,” Román notes that her mindset has always been focused on building and launching initiatives that solve programs.

She shared that she is thrilled to launch Amplify Latinx 2.0 this year, which constitutes an unveiling of the organization’s policy agenda, expanding its team, board, and programming statewide.

“The Latino community is at an inflection moment due to its exponential demographic growth and potential,” Román said. “We have a collective responsibility to find intersectional solutions that drive home equity and progress.”

As the new President and CEO of Amplify Latinx, Román will help lead that mission in finding those solutions.
