Frida Kahlo and her untold story on TV
The most unknown stories about Frida Kahlo will be brought to the screen in her new official TV show.
Frida Kahlo's has become a Latin American icon for a number of reasons: for challenging the status quo with her art and personality, for her proud Mexican identity, and her connection to feminism.
Once again, honoring that legacy, the iconic artist will be brought back to the screen, but this time, as part of an official show of her life being developed by the Frida Kahlo Corporation along with CIC Media.
The show will be a drama that closely follows the life of the famous artist and will allow viewers to explore her artistic work, her legacy, and the era in which she lived.
To produce the show, its team will be carefully chosen. At the moment, it is known that Venezuelan screenwriter and director Joel Novoa and Marilú Godínez will be in charge of developing the plot, and Venezuelan composer and singer Carlos Baute will also be producer and composer of the show's soundtrack.
"The idea is to talk about what the books don't talk about... The subtext behind each painting, the richness of the Mexican 20th century and the revolution. Themes that are incredibly relevant in this unprecedented moment," Novoa and Godinez told Deadline.
