The actress from Madrid took advantage of the context of her new film to give her opinion on the word feminism in an interview with EFE. Cruz said she believes that the concept has been "distorted" and "misinterpreted" a lot. Despite this, the actress recognizes herself as a feminist and affirms her mother as the maximum proponent of feminism.
"My mother is a strong person, she had me when she was only 21 years old, I have seen her in many situations in life and her reactions have always been inspiring for me, of great self-respect, she has been a great teacher and if I had to choose a referent of course it would be her."
The film directed by Simon Kinberg, features Chastain, Cruz, Diane Kruger, Lupita Nyong'o and Fan Bingbing on the cast. The 355 arrives on Friday in Spanish theaters after receiving mixed reviews in its premiere in the United States and several Latin American countries.
The 355 was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018 and although it was scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2020, the premiere was delayed due to the pandemic.
