The film to be released through Prime Video will be directed by Colombian Andres Baiz and is produced by production company Dynamo. Baiz has also directed other Colombian productions such as 'Griselda', 'Narcos' and 'Satanás', based on the book by Mario Mendoza.

According to data revealed by the streaming platform, the premiere will be on September 9th and the story will focus on gasoline smugglers who travel between the border of Colombia and Venezuela while endangering their lives by crossing illegally.

Other actors who will be part of this production along with the singer are Alejandro Speitezer, Laura Osma and Alberto Guerra.

“#Pimpinero is a story full of action, love, brotherhood and nobility, which will be part of the official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9th," announced Prime Video through its Instagram account.

Although this is Juan Esteban Aristizabal's first major role, the Colombian has had other appearances in different movies and TV series such as 'Bordertown' in 2007 starring Jennifer Lopez, 'Jane The Virgin' in 2015, where he played a music producer and 'Ferdinand' in 2017, where he played the voice of one of the characters as a florist on a farm.

As reported by Publimetro, the interpreter of “La Camisa Negra” had also previously expressed his interest in acting, so he could not miss this opportunity as part of his artistic growth.
