Luis Fonsi releases new song “City of Dreams”
The song will be part of the soundtrack of a film about human trafficking and child labor.
Fonsi's theme song, which bears the same name as the movie 'City of Dreams', was released this Friday as part of the announcement of the film that will premiere in Miami on Tuesday, August 20th.
“I feel very honored to be part of a film that has the power to change and save children's lives,” said the artist at the beginning of the official video. “I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with the team to create this beautiful and powerful song with the mission to raise awareness of this critical issue,” he mentioned.
The video is a compilation of original scenes from the film along with shots of the artist performing the track.

'City of Dreams' tells the story of a young boy named Jesus, who dreams of becoming a soccer star and is kidnapped, trafficked across the border and sold to a sweatshop in Los Angeles to be exploited for labor.
The film, which is also produced by Fonsi and Mexican actress Yalitza Aparicio, will be released nationwide on August 30th.
“We believe that this film is just the opening shot of this movement. And we hope that each one of us can do our part to protect and save more innocent children to end child trafficking forever,” concluded the singer through the video posted on YouTube.
