The call for entries for the 62nd annual Cartagena International Film Festival (FICCI 62) will be open until Dec. 19. All those interested in participating should do so through the platform www.festhome.com in the festival section. Notification of the selected productions will be presented on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023.

"The Festival values creative freedom and every year prepares the best spaces for creators from around the world, Ibero-America and our urban and remote country, to dialogue around films of any format, extension, nationality, theme, genre or technique, that meet the highest quality standards, take narrative risks, and propose contents of great relevance and cinematographic and human pertinence," stated its organizers through a special press release for the media.

During FICCI 62, "Colombian cinema and talent will be, as always, protagonists and hosts," organizers emphasized during the presentation.

At its 61st edition, the festival reaffirmed the importance of the encounter around the best of world, Ibero-American and national cinematography; experiencing the films collectively and generating spaces for reflection that allowed all attendees to leave behind an isolation that affected the entire world with effects on the globe are now becoming evident.

This year, FICCI will continue to work so that it "continues to be an engine of social and cultural change in the country and a meeting and exchange place for all races, cultures, creeds, genders and worldviews of a world in transition and above all so that it becomes more and more an event for the transformation, growth and expansion of consciousness of the human beings who visit us every year."

Within the academic and industry spaces of FICCI 62, themes such as Cyberfeudalism, Digital Landlords and Electronic Peasantry will be presented, where attendees will be able to watch feature films, short documentaries and fiction films of all nationalities with contents that enrich the understanding of the unquestionable advantages and potential disadvantages that technology has brought to contemporary life and shed light on the implications of the possession and dominion that some have over the new digital territories.
