The biographical series of 'Chespirito' to be advised by "Señor Barriga"
Seven years after the loss of the iconic "Chespirito," Edgar Vivar, "Señor Barriga" takes on the role of story consultant
Mexican actor Edgar Vivar, known throughout Latin America as "Señor Barriga" in El Chavo del 8, is in charge of advising the history of the new biographical series about the iconic Roberto Gómez Bolaños, "Chespirito." The producer and director of the series is Roberto Gómez Fernández, son of "Chespirito."
"Roberto's bioseries is in process, in fact I know that the first installment has already been written," he said.
The series will review the life of the famous "Chespirito," from his birth to the success of his program, in addition to addressing some aspects of his personal life the public does not know. Vivar recalls his friendship with Gómez Bolaños, which may not have been very intense, but was one of great mutual respect.

"He was a man with whom one could have a beautiful conversation because he was extremely cultured, he knew how to listen, a quality that is not very common."
June 20 marked the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the first episode of El Chavo del 8, a program that launched the careers of Florida Meza; María Antonieta de las Nieves; Rubén Aguirre; Ramón Valdés as "Don Ramón," and Carlos Villagrán.
However, as iconic as the series was for Latin America, the anniversary was not celebrated.
In recent weeks, it has been rumored that Disney would buy the rights to the series. In this regard, Gómez Fernández clarified that, although the series is intended to be transmitted through streaming platforms, it has not yet been decided which one will broadcast it.
"We are in talks with different platforms, here there is a more direct intervention of the platform, but it is a production made by us in coordination with the platform. Until we know with whom. At first, it is a platform and then it will go to television stations," confirmed the producer.
