Silver sand, sun, sea, and breeze: there is little left for this combination of elements to become a reality for the next summer holidays.
If you are already dreaming of a beach to spend those rest days but you have not yet planned any trip, it is time to take a look at the ranking of the best beaches in the world to visit in 2022.
The ranking, prepared by the American website for recommendations of historical, tourist and gastronomic sites TripAdvisor, is headed by Grace Bay Beach, in Providenciales. This island is a British Overseas Territory and belongs to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The second place in the ranking is for a Latin American destination: Varadero Beach in Cuba. This beach, in fact, is made up of six others and stretches for 20 kilometers.
Ranked number 3 in the TripAdvisor ranking stands Turquoise Bay in Exmouth, Western Australia. The waters of this beach are so crystal clear that one of the favorite sports of visitors is usually snorkeling.
In the 4th place, a close destination for South Americans sneaks in again and is a source of pride for a country that has more than 8,000 kilometers of coastline. We are talking about Brazil and more specifically about Quarta Praia in Morro de São Paulo. Full of palm trees along the eight kilometers of beach, in Quarta Praia it is possible to see all kinds of colorful fish when the tide is low. This is not the only Brazilian beach included in the ranking; there are also Baia do Sancho in the idyllic Fernando de Noronha and Baía dos Golfinhos in Praia da Pipa, in positions 7 and 9 respectively.
A Caribbean beach sneaks into the top 5: Eagle Beach in Aruba. In 2019, this beach was the winner of the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award, consecrating itself as the third best beach in the world. On this beach you can take photos of the traditional fofoti trees and find nests of sea turtles.
A Spanish beach among the best in the world
From position 5 we jump to position 17, which is where the only Spanish destination in this entire list is located. It is Playa del Muro on the northwest coast of Mallorca, Balearic Islands. In its eight kilometers of extension, Playa de Muro is one of the busiest by families, and is considered one of the 20 best on this island since it has a blue flag, a European Union badge that guarantees its cleanliness and safety. Among the many activities that can be done on this beach are boating, hiking, snorkeling and enjoying unparalleled sunsets.
