February 23rd, 2023In a major announcement made on Feb. 22, Juanma Moreno, president of the Junta de Andalusia, and Manuel Abud, executive director of the Latin Recording Academy, the 2023 Latin Grammys will take place in Andalusia, Spain.
"The agreement for the Latin Grammys is a historic event for Andalusia and for culture. Our land will host various events through 2025, including the gala presentation of its Awards. We estimate an economic impact of close to 500 million euros," Moreno wrote on his social media platforms.
Beyond the Latin Grammys, Morena said Andalusia will also host two major concerts organized by the Academy. Both concerts will happen in 2024 and 2025.
During the official announcement, Moreno said the decision was made because the surrounding Andalusia "meets all the requirements because it has a very close link with the entire Latin world".

The organizers have yet to reveal what city in Andalusia will play host. However, they did hint that Seville is one of the favorites for the big event. The Mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, expressed his support for the event happening in the city.
"After two editions of the Goya Awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards, the great Dior fashion show... We have shown that Seville is ready to host major events on an international level. And we continue!" wrote the Spanish mayor. "Next target- The Latin Grammy Awards."
This will be the first time the Latin Grammys will be held outside the United States since the awards began in 2000.
