For Alaitz Arenzana, artistic director of the festival, Carri is "one of the most influential voices of a whole new generation of Latin American creators. Her work is a continuous exploration of her own languages and ways of showing everything that the dominant gazes pretend to leave out of the field."
Carri has a long career as a director, screenwriter, producer and feminist activist. The recognition of her work at the festival can be seen in a section specifically dedicated to the director's work.
In addition to making more than half a dozen short films and the features No quiero volver a casa in 2000, Los rubios in 2003 and Cuatreros in 2017, Carri has also created programs for television and is the founder of the Asterisco International LGBT Film Festival.
