During her childhood, Chanel Terrero dreamed of having her own music video. She watched the spectacular productions of Beyoncé and Shakira, and imagined herself surrounded by dancers performing her own choreography.

“Wow, it just happened, it's real. Right now I feel like when I was a little girl, I'm jumping for joy," the singer said during the recent premiere of the music video for "SloMo."

After receiving the first applause from the journalists present in the room, the Spanish singer said that “it was very cool, it was very hard because it was a long and very demanding shoot, because we wanted to get the best out of ourselves. We were very cold (they were wet because it rained in one scene), but happy because the result is very good.”

Chanel won the last edition of the Benidorm Fest, which appointed her Spain's next representative at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. Her victory was not free from controversy — some accused the jury of excessively favoring her and undervaluing the vote from the public, and there was suspicion that the song's lyrics might have exceeded the maximum number of words allowed in a foreign language. In the song, Chanel uses multiple English words.

“To get the best out of experiences, the most beautiful thing is to have that illusion of a small child, and the discipline of maturity. Now I am at a point where I enjoy everything that happens around me, with all the people who are getting involved in this project,” the artist said.

It's a music of intense and sensual dances, with sudden hip movements that are reminiscent of her admired Shakira. The fast pace of the song was ideal to be accompanied by a careful choreography, designed by Kyle Hanagami and performed by the dancers Exo Narcos, Josh Huerta, Pol Soto, Raquel Caurín and Ría Pérez.

Choreographer Hanagami, who has worked with artists such as Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and Black Pink in the past, stated: “Chanel is incredible. When I heard the song, I asked myself to be a part of this project, it's exciting."

Chanel acknowledged that the crew simulated rain to record a part of the video and it gave her a huge cold, but was worth it for the finished product.

Regarding the pressure to represent her country at Eurovision, where millions of viewers around the world will follow her performance live, the singer stated that “pressure is good, because it keeps you active and without relax. You have to give everything, even sleeping less hours to train harder.”

Chanel said that the rehearsals to participate in the gala, which will be held in Turin, Italy on May 10, are tough.

“I am taking care of my voice, my physique, and above all, my mind,” she said.
