Spanish singer Joan Manuel Serrat has one of his most passionate fans within his own family. His eldest granddaughter, Luna Serrat — a graduate in communication and influencer — wanted to show her grandfather the deep admiration she has towards him. She did it by tattooing the title of one of her favorite songs, “Paraules d’amor,” on her forearm.

The 23-year-old is the eldest of the two daughters of Queco Serrat, the son the singer had during his first marriage with Mercedes Doménech. Luna is combining her professional vocation with the musical passion so present in her family. Currently, she works on the program of radio host Javier Cárdenas.

“My grandfather used to tell me that a hard-working artist is better than a talented one, that is very clear to me. My grandparents are pure work, humility, they have instilled in me such beautiful values that influenced me,” the young woman recently said.

Just like the millions of people Serrat inspired with his vindictive lyrics and chords, Luna wanted to mark her fascination for her grandfather on her skin forever. She chose this love song, included in the album Cançó de matinada (1967).

In its lyrics, the singer-songwriter describes the pure and early love of adolescence, marked by fascination and ignorance.

“Simple and tender words of love. We did not know more, we were fifteen years old. We didn't have much time to learn. We were just waking up from the dream of infants,” sounds the chorus.

In addition to Serrat, Luna has two other grandmothers.

"Fortunately, I have three grandparents out of four and all three are my inspiration, it’s the most powerful thing in my life," the young woman noted. The best prove are the red ink letters that she tattooed on her skin.

On her Instagram profile, where she has more than 60,000 followers, she publishes photos of herself as a model. Along with the emojis that define her professional interests and dedications, there is only one clear sentence: “where my grandparents are.” In her life, everything seems to move around fashion and music.

Joan Manuel Serrat, as well as other prominent singers of his generation, appear on her list of favorite Spotify songs. “I really like the song 'Lucía,' my sister has this name and it is very special. I am my grandfather's number one fan and I go to his concerts,” she commented.

It is expected that Luna will be present at some of Serrat's performances during his farewell tour El vicio de cantar, scheduled in Spain and America in 2022.

On Twitter, Luna also shows admiration to her grandfather, sharing all the latest news about him. Recently, she retweeted the tribute to Serrat after being awarded with the Gran Cruz de la Orden Civil de Alfonso X, given by Spanish President Pedro Sánchez.
