The Tex-Mex singer's legacy lives on with the song "Salta la ranita", which is part of the album that also includes ten other unreleased songs, as well as three remixes by Selena.

Selena's father and sister, Abraham and Suzette Quintanilla, told EFE that creating this new album was a challenge for them, as the songs are themes that the singer recorded when she was between 13 and 16 years old, so they had to work hard to make the melodies sound as if they had just been recorded.

Almost 30 years after her death, the Tex-Mex queen looks more alive than ever in her animated version, where she wears her iconic purple outfit and her trademark long hair.

The official video shows Selena surrounded by animals playing various instruments and moving around on a stage decorated in Mexican style.

Since her death, her record label has made several tributes to her and in the remainder of 2022 they are set to release unreleased songs by the singer.

"The public still remembers her. They haven't forgotten her and have been waiting for a project like this," stated the artist's father.

Selena Quintanilla died on Friday, March 31st, 1995 in Corpus Christi, Texas, murdered by the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldívar. Despite attempts by emergency services to revive her, the singer was pronounced dead shortly after due to hypovolemic shock and cardiorespiratory arrest.
