Rosalía revealed yesterday afternoon that Cardi B would be the one to bring new life to her song of the Summer, "Despechá," in a new remix.

"For a long time, I wanted to make music with her," Rosalía said during an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music. "And she knows that I love her music, and she always supports me too. So I told her, 'This song is inspired by mambo, it's inspired by Dominican music.' And she's Dominican, so who's going to understand it better than her? You know what I mean? Her energy is super pure and strong. I think everybody can feel it."

For her part, Cardi B said she was happy about the new project with a tweet on the morning of the release that read: "Thank you, Rosalía. I love that we were able to work on this together."

The artists' fans have shown excitement over the song's release, posting memes, parts of the lyrics and screenshots playing the track over and over again.

Rosalía's hit

'Despechá' was originally released late last July and in just five months accumulated more than 450 million plays on Spotify.

In October, Rosalía achieved her first number one as a solo artist, unaccompanied by any other artist, on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart with the track, and her second number one on Billboard's Tropical Airplay chart.

The 'Motomami World Tour,' which has been a worldwide success, will come to an end with a special closing concert on Sunday, Dec. 18 in Paris.
