Rosalía is Spanish, but she feels right at home in the U.S. On Thursday night, she went on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and conquered the host and the audience. After blowing up stateside with her second album El Mal Querer, the artist settled in Miami, where she spent the last three years writing and composing her new album.

During the promotional campaign for Motomami, which will be released on March 18, Rosalía offered very few interviews, except for a long talk with Rolling Stone magazine. But with her visit to the set of Fallon, who declared himself a great fan of the singer, she finally made her first appearance on late-night TV in the U.S.

Dressed in a purple suit, she was well received by the host and audience. After showing the cover of her new album (censored because she appears naked), she explained the meaning of the title.

Motomami is an energy. Maybe you're a motodaddy too,” she sarcastically told Fallon.

In recent days, the Catalan icon has been dropping tips on her Twitter about the album: "A motomami doesn't mind getting her hands dirty when she puts them inside the car engine to adjust it," reads one.

In the few minutes of her appearance, Rosalía highlighted a funny anecdote that involves singer Harry Styles. She usually changes her phone immersed in the creative process, and avoids answering WhatsApp messages. When dozens of pending chats accumulate, she decides to change her phone number. Out of pure ignorance, she believed that the old numbers are no longer operational, but it doesn’t work like that.

Styles, who felt passionate after hearing the song "Dolerme," wrote to her: "this is beautiful." But the British singer was unaware that it was no longer Rosalía's number. The new user of the number, without knowing who was writing to him, replied: “I know, honey, I love you.” Styles answered that he loved her too.

Continuing with the joke, the owner of the phone acknowledged: “Sorry, I don't know who you are. This number belonged to someone, but now it's mine." The audience exploded with laughter upon hearing the story.

The promotion for Motomami will continue this Saturday, March 12, on the Saturday Night Live. A day before the release of the album, on March 17, she will fly to Spain to participate in the program El Hormiguero.

Rosalía has already released three singles from the upcoming album: "La Fama," "Chicken Teriyaki," and "Saoko."
